Our mission is to deliver world-class international education through the provision of curricula, assessment and services. Our programmes and qualifications develop successful learners and support the economic performance of countries where we work at national level.

Our programmes and qualifications

Our international education programmes and qualifications lead seamlessly from primary through secondary and pre-university years. We provide globally recognised qualifications including Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge O Level, Cambridge International AS and A Level and Cambridge Pre-U, which open doors for learners worldwide.

We also offer Cambridge Professional Development qualifications for teachers and trainers.

Where we work

More than 9000 schools offer Cambridge programmes and qualifications. We operate in 160 countries across 6 regions: Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, South Asia, and Southern Africa. We have Cambridge representatives in every region.

Working with governments around the world

We have worked in partnership with ministries of education, qualifications authorities and examination and assessment boards around the world for over 150 years.

In some countries, such as Singapore, Cambridge examinations are the state qualification for students in secondary school. In other parts of the world, such as Botswana, Namibia and Swaziland, we have worked with governments to reform education systems and helped to localise examinations by training officials, teachers, markers and examiners in curriculum development and assessment.

We also develop bespoke curriculum and assessments for countries at a national level. We are currently engaged in major projects in Bahrain and Egypt, among others.

Developing successful teachers and learners

Well supported teachers can offer the best education possible and develop successful learners. We offer full support including training, events, teaching and learning resources, and membership of a global community.

Together with schools, we aim to develop Cambridge learners who are confident, responsible, innovative and engaged. All our programmes and qualifications follow a learner-centred approach.

Governance

The Chief Executive of University of Cambridge International Examinations is a member of the Cambridge Assessment Group board. This is in turn governed by a Syndicate Committee with representatives of the University of Cambridge.

Our systems for designing, developing and delivering products and systems for the provision of international education programmes and qualifications for 5–19 year olds, and for providing associated assessment, educational services, teacher support and training are certified as meeting the internationally recognised ISO 9001:2008 standard for quality management.
